How to Clean Your Verona Oven in Time for the Holidays

November 24, 2021 by EuroChef

As we welcome the holiday season this year, you might be thinking about how much activity your Verona oven may see in the next few weeks. From cookies to turkeys, your oven will be put into overdrive – after what could have been a long reprieve from gatherings. Below we explain how to best clean your Verona oven in time for meals with friends and family for the holidays. Your oven will be in tip-top shape in no time!

Tip: Before you get started, make sure to let the oven cool entirely if it was recently used. We recommend wearing rubber gloves and eye protection and to keep small children and pets away from any cleaning products and the oven during the process.

All Verona range cavities are built with an EZ-clean porcelain surface, which makes cleaning the oven easier on you. First, you will want to remove all racks, pans and utensils from the oven cavity. These can be cleaned separately with your favorite dish soap, some warm water and a sponge. The oven cavity can be wiped down with the same solution or with any oven-safe cleaner of choice. Wipe all areas of the oven cavity’s top, bottom, and sides with a sponge or any non-abrasive cloth.

Stubborn dirt and grime can be tackled by initiating a manual self-cleaning process in your oven. Simply fill a shallow baking pan with some water, add a few drops of either lemon juice or white vinegar, and place it in the center of the oven rack. Set the oven to the bake mode and at the highest possible temperature. Let the cycle run for about an hour as it burns off excess grease and grime and turns it into an ash-like substance. Once the cavity has completely cooled, you can easily wipe out residue with a soft sponge or cloth. Before closing the oven door, be sure to completely dry all surfaces with a microfiber or other soft cloth.

If you have a self-cleaning oven from Verona, then most of the time-consuming manual labor will be done for you – leaving you with more time to complete other tasks like setting the table or wrapping gifts. The self-cleaning function works by burning off crumbs, grease, and other cooking residues at temperatures as high as 860°F and may take anywhere between an hour to three hours, depending on how dirty the inside of the oven cavity is.

Before starting this process, make sure to remove the broiler pan, oven racks and any additional bakeware or utensils. The oven accessories can be cleaned separately with warm, soapy water and a sponge. It is also important to wipe up any spills or excess grease before turning on a self-clean cycle to avoid flames and smoke inside the cavity during the cleaning process. Note that while the self-cleaning function is on, the oven cavity door will automatically lock and will not unlock until the interior of the cavity cools to a safe temperature.

After running a cycle, you can easily lift the leftover ash in the oven cavity with a damp paper towel and wipe it dry. Please visit the self-cleaning oven manual for more information.

Verona’s triple-pane glass dThe interior glass on the oven door can easily be a forgotten part of the cleaning process. Verona’s triple-pane glass doors are built to tackle those tricky drip marks easily. Remove the retaining screws and then carefully lift away the glass from the door with a screwdriver. You can clean the glass with your favorite glass cleaning solution. Refer to your specific appliance’s operation manual for step-by-step instructions with figures to help guide you.

We recommend checking the Operation Manual of your specific Verona model for more cleaning tips. You can view the full product library here.

Verona’s Guide to Kitchen Ventilation Systems

October 26, 2021 by EuroChef

Ventilation solutions are critical components for every kitchen and choosing the right one is an important step in the kitchen renovation process. Kitchen ventilation fans work to pull the air around you into filters or a duct to remove odors, grease, moisture, smoke, and harmful particles from the kitchen as you cook. Determining the right ventilation system for your kitchen can be complex, as it is not a one-size-fits-all approach.

You will want to consider what options are available, your style preferences, as well as the structure of your home, your local township regulations and more. We recommend you consult with an appliance professional about which hood is best for you, but for now, we will provide you with a guide of talking points so you can be prepared for an informed conversation.

Know What Types of Ventilation Options are Available

Verona range hoods are designed and engineered with great attention to detail and use only the best quality components available. Featuring powerful multi-speed fans, LED lighting and pro-style upgrades, every Verona hood pairs perfectly with Verona cooking products in an array of sizes and colors for the ultimate choice in performance and design. We have three ventilation options available.

  • Verona Chimney Hoods: A chimney hood is often installed on the wall and eliminates the need for a cabinet over the range or cooktop. The design of this hood often serves as a focal point in the kitchen and can complement the range.
  • Verona Low Profile Range Hoods: A low-profile range hood is mounted directly onto the bottom of a kitchen cabinet and centered above the range or cooktop.
  • Verona Range Hood Inserts: A hood insert is installed directly into a hole cut either in the ceiling or a custom surround. The hoods’ motor box is hidden for a seamless, straight-line design. It’s the perfect hood for appliances installed on an island, peninsula or in a nook.

Determine What Suits Your Style…

Now that you have a general idea of what hoods are available from Verona, you’ll want to think about your overall kitchen vision and which hood will best match your style.

  • The Focal Point: The Verona Chimney Hood offers a lean, straight-line design with rounded edges for a pro-style look. This style hood can easily be the star of any kitchen. In addition, the chef-inspired design will make you feel like you’re cooking in a professional kitchen at home!
  • The Traditionalist: The Verona Low Profile Range Hood installs under an upper cabinet. It’s best for when you would like the hood to be part of the kitchen design, but not the focal point. The low-profile hood is both functional and economical in its design, as it allows to for valuable upper storage in kitchens that are tight on space.

  • Hidden in Plain Sight: The Verona Hood Insert has a clean, slim design with commercial-style performance. This hood is often hidden or integrated into a custom surround designed to match the kitchen cabinetry or as a bold design element.

… and Meets Your Needs

Although you may have a particular style hood in mind, you will also need to consider what will meet the needs of your cooking style and your home. Here are a few questions that should be addressed when choosing ventilation.

  • How many CFMs will you need? CFM stands for cubic feet per minute. This tells you how fast the range hood can move air. The higher the CFM, the faster the air can be moved out of the space. How many CFMs you will need depends on a multitude of factors, including the size and layout of your kitchen. Is it open concept or a micro-sized space? Are there windows? How high are the ceilings? All of these components will be a factor in the CFM power needed. Also consider the width of your cooking appliance and the burner power and fuel type – the larger and more powerful your appliance is, the more CFM’s you will need. Verona’s ventilation options deliver powerful performance from 600 CFMs for smaller cooktops and up to 1,200 CFMs for larger cooktops.
  • How will the air be vented in your home? There are two main types of venting methods: external and recirculating. External venting will push air outside to the roof or the side of the home using vents and ducts. The recirculating method, common in condos or apartments, does not require outside ventilation. Instead, air is filtered through the hood first before being released back into the room.
  • How do you currently cook at home? Think about the type of cooking you do most often. Some range hoods have filters specifically for capturing grease, which can be helpful if you frequently cook with oil. You will also want to think about personal preferences, like if you would prefer extra lighting, want variable fan speeds or a vent that can be controlled by a remote or will automatically adjust fan speed depending on the heat and smoke in the room. Discussing your preferences and cooking habits can help your representative guide you to ventilation that will best suit your needs.

We hope these pointers allow you to feel more confident in your ventilation selection and will help guide you as you work through your kitchen renovation. 20s Kitchen Color Trends

September 22, 2021 by EuroChef

The Pendulum Swings with Kitchen Designs Featuring Verona Appliances

The defining kitchen color trends of the 10s were dominated by soft shades of white, grey and blue in modern farmhouse settings. As we move closer to the end of another year and further into a new decade, Verona Appliances notes a different trend emerging in kitchen design – the explosion of color. The pendulum always swings to the other end, and the following projects prove that colorful kitchens are this century’s version of the roaring 20s.

Jungle Green

Photo Credit: Jon Pierre and Mary Tjon-Joe-Pin, “Two Steps Home” for HGTV | 36″ Designer Gas Cooktop in Stainless Steel and 34″ Designer Hood Insert in Stainless Steel, from Verona Appliances

Biophilia is everywhere in the design world. Certain shades of green, reminiscent of what is found in nature, provides balance and harmony. It’s a feeling we all crave as we escape the craziness of the outside world at home. This kitchen uses a jungle green hue paired with reclaimed wood beams to evoke a sense of peace and tranquility that often comes with natural materials. The geometric backsplash is also a wonderful nod to the art-deco design of a century’s past.

Butter Yellow

We all need a little more sunshine in our lives. Feel more confident, optimistic and cheerful at home with this uplifting shade of yellow. “Illuminating” was named the 2021 Pantone Color of the Year, so we expect to see more yellow appearing in kitchen designs. To create an even more exciting kitchen, add a punch of contrasting color with an appliance in matte black.

Stark Black

Luxurious. Glam. Modern. We have seen matte black accents slowly dominate the interior design scene, but this kitchen takes it up a notch by outfitting the entire space in it. From the marble backsplash to the cabinetry to the range, this kitchen is bold and moody. You can’t get any further away from the all-white kitchen than this!

Sapphire Blue

Photo Credit: Cynthia Trgo, Diamond Design and Construction, LLC | 36” Designer Electric Range from Verona Appliances

This jewel-toned blue has been used as an accent color on islands, but now it’s the star of the entire kitchen. Whether your design style is coastal, modern, farmhouse or transitional, sapphire blue cabinetry creates a calming effect, which again, is a feeling we all crave to bring into our homes. Mixing metals is also a trend we see in kitchens; this designer pairs a stainless steel appliance with gold-toned hardware.

Make a Splash: Backsplash Trends We’re Seeing in 2021

May 18, 2021 by EuroChef

The mighty backsplash isn’t just meant to be a design feature in the kitchen. A backsplash not only aesthetically brings the design of your kitchen together, but it also has great functionality as it prevents odors from being absorbed into the wall while also protecting walls from grease splatters and the occasional spaghetti sauce snafu. We want to spotlight the kitchen backsplash this month, as they are the silent heroes in protecting your kitchen from everyday cooking messes. See what’s trending this year in backsplash design by reading our blog below. Thanks to all who have tagged us on Instagram!

White Subway Tile

White subway tile is a classic backsplash pattern that stands the test of time. The versatile shape can be installed to create endless patterns, including the traditional bricklayer classic herringbone pattern, the modern horizontal or vertical stack or even a crosshatch install to name a few.

Buttered Side Up Blog went for a transitional blend of classic and industrial styles for her farmhouse kitchen. Like many homeowners these days, she opted to install a white subway tile backsplash from countertop to ceiling to create a cohesive and clean look.

Prestige 36″ Dual Fuel Range

Bold and Bright Patterns

Backsplashes are the perfect place to add an unexpected twist to a kitchen. Like Buttered Side Up Blog, Sonoran Desert Living installed a bold, black backsplash from the counter to the ceiling. The bright white six-point stars add contrast to this dark, moody and contemporary kitchen. Three black pendant lights, all in the shape of starbursts, round out the look.

Verona Dual Fuel Range

Marble Slabs

If you have marble countertops and want a seamless look throughout your kitchen, opt for a marble slab backsplash! The durable material that has long reigned supreme on countertops is gaining popularity as a backsplash. This kitchen design, spotlighted on Hunker Home, features the same dusty, gray marble veining on the countertops and walls to tie this light and airy space together.

Verona 36″ Electric Single Oven

Me and Mr. Jones also opted for a marble backsplash to give her kitchen a luxurious feel.

Verona 36″ Designer Series Electric Range, Matte Black

Textured and Glossy

Innovations in tile manufacturing have brought textured, 3D tile to kitchens and baths alike. These patterns add depth and interest to any kitchen and can turn your finished space into a work of art. Like this triangular tile below, geometric patterns with subtle texture use light and shadowing to its advantage to create an exciting appearance.

Verona Appliances Celebrates 20 Years in the U.S.

March 23, 2021 by EuroChef

Since 1958 our family-owned, Italian-made line of ranges, ovens and cooktops has been a preferred appliance brand featured in upscale kitchens throughout Europe. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Verona in the U.S. market.

From 2001 to today, our brand offers a wide range of cooking appliances suitable for any size kitchen on both sides of the Atlantic. To honor this milestone, we want to take you on a journey through the evolution of our product line innovations – highlighting what makes Verona the chef-inspired appliance maker for those who want the look and functionality of a professional appliance for their home.

2001

The one that started it all… Verona’s 12” gas cooktop, which featured one large and one small sealed burner with electronic ignition launched in our debut year. Finish offerings included Black, White, Bisque and Stainless Steel. The compact 12” model was part of a full cooktop collection that was available in up to a 36” size.

2002

We introduced a full collection of freestanding ranges, including our popular Verona Professional 36” and 48” dual fuel and 24” gas ranges. The pro-restaurant-inspired look and functional features set the stage for Verona as a true cooking appliance that is attainable for at-home chefs.

2005

Verona built-in ovens were launched in 2005 and included the ever-popular 24” gas model, which remains a Verona exclusive today. The individual ovens could be installed as one unit or used with a stacking kit to create a seamless, stunning stainless-steel double oven display.

2010

In 2010 we introduced the exclusive 36” double oven ranges, available in both dual fuel or all gas models. These ovens are a true multitasker, as they allow home chefs to bake dinner and dessert at the same time.

2011

Verona debuted a variety of color options for the range collection. In addition to stainless steel, we added matte black, burgundy, antique white and white to our color palette.

2012

This was a big year for Verona Appliances with the launch of a standard American-sized 30” Pro Style Deluxe Range. The new Collection was engineered specifically for the US market and was packed with professional quality features such as a convection gas oven, four burner cooktop, a digital clock and timer, heavy-duty cast iron grates and more.

Also launched in this year was the VeronaPro line, which included upgraded 36” and 30” ranges, a 30” gas wall oven and 36” gas cooktop, all with powerful brass German-made burners and many aesthetic upgrades.

2015

In 2015, Verona debuted the 36” Classic range that combined the very best of industrial design and cooking performance. The range was a recipient of Design Journal Magazine’s Best of 2015 Products award. With the launch of the trend-setting Classic look, the Verona logo also received an update transforming into today’s iconic square design.

Also introduced in this year was the 36” fully-electric N’ Series Range, which still stands as an iconic model for the Verona brand. At the time of its release, the N’ Series Range was the only fully electric range on the market.

2016

The Chefs Pak was released in 2016 to the delight of many home cooks. The accessory package included a heavy-duty stainless-steel griddle, 3” x 5” beveled spatula, digital meat probe and more.

2017

In 2017 we launched Verona’s exclusive 36” All-Electric Ranges. The range won a Good Design Award in the same year, and the collection of All-Electric Ranges was an Interior Design Best of Year Honoree.

2018

The Designer and Prestige series was added to our extensive line of 36” freestanding ranges in 2018. The ranges featured both performance and aesthetic upgrades such as brass burners, rounded handles, continuous cast iron grates, a modern knob design and clean, beveled doors.

2019

Verona added two new colors and colored knobs to our line for the Designer series, plus an online Designer Range Builder Tool that allows interior designers and homeowners to customize their very own Designer Series range. The “Designer Range Builder” provides users the option to preview any combination of fuel type, knob color and base color for their personalized appliance.

2020

Verona added non-cooking appliances to their line to offer a complete kitchen suite including new refrigerator and dishwasher for the first time. In addition to this exciting development, Verona also expanded its popular Designer series with Dual Fuel and Induction 36” ranges and ventilation options for wall-mounted, chimney hoods and built-in inserts.

  • The Designer series Dual Fuel and Induction 36” ranges, where consumers can create their ideal range in up to six colors, three knob designs and four fuel options;
  • The Designer Ventilation Hood with three style options, including a wall-mounted chimney hood, streamlined low profile hood and built-in hood insert;
  • And the Verona Kitchen Suite, where consumers can choose from a wide selection of powerful ventilation and cooking products, Energy Star-rated 36” counter-depth French Door Refrigerator, and 24” stainless-steel dishwasher.

In our 20th year in the U.S., we celebrated with updated built-in collections, including the Designer Series 30” Gas Built-in Wall Oven, which has superior design upgrades including a soft-close door, commercial-style closed-door broiler, convection bake options and more. We’ve also debuted the Designer Cooktop Collection with beautifully designed continuous cast-iron grates, high-power triple-ring brass burners and soft-touch rubberized round knobs.

Innovation and Design: Verona Appliance’s Guide to 2021 Appliance Trends

February 18, 2021 by EuroChef

Kitchens have never worked harder!

It’s no longer enough that ovens roast, refrigerators keep food cold and dishwashers clean. As the daily function of the kitchen evolves, from a space for culinary creation and dining to virtual classrooms, home offices and so much more, there is a greater need for high-performing household appliances.

Read on as we delve into the latest trends in kitchen appliance design and features, and learn why you should equip your home with powerful and multi-functional kitchen gadgets.

Efficient and Quiet Ventilation

In a time where health and hygiene are at the forefront of everyone’s mind, proper ventilation is an important consideration to enhance wellness in a kitchen. And, now that kitchens have become a multi-purpose room, it is imperative that range hoods are seen more than they are heard. Verona Appliances offers distinct ventilation hoods, including the new Designer Series, that features powerful, yet quiet blowers with four fan speeds to provide hushed filtration when the kitchen is in use for both work and play.

Dual-Fuel Cooking

Homeowners are faced with tough decisions when purchasing a new range, like the choice of gas or electric connections. Or, thanks to advancements in appliance technology, there is now the opportunity to have the best of both options. Dual-Fuel ranges like this Verona Appliances 36” Designer Series feature a gas cooktop and an electric oven. This allows home chefs to cook with the multi-function control of electricity in the oven and the power and precision of gas burners on the cooktop.

Multi-Functional Enhancements

As kitchens grow into their new role as a catchall room that the entire family can use, there is a greater need for multiple meal prep and cooking stations. Combining cooktops with built-in ovens, or stacking wall ovens next to a range are a great way to increase cooking capacity in a home. The new 30” Designer Series Gas Wall Ovens from Verona Appliances offer powerful features and perfectly pair with Verona’s line of cooktops or ranges to efficiently multi-task during mealtime.

Cooking with Flexibility

For kitchens low on space, double-oven ranges like Verona Appliances exclusive Prestige Series option are the perfect option to incorporate extra cooking flexibility. With two ovens, you can simultaneously prepare multiple meals that require different temperatures, modes, and ingredients all in one 36” wide range.

Verona also offers a collection of accessories perfect for the home chef keen on incorporating additional cooking flexibility in the kitchen. From the simmer plate and wok ring to the Chefs Pak accessory kit, there is an option for every level of cooking and offers adaptability to any cooking appliance.

Pops of Color

Say “so long” to standard stainless steel appliances. Homeowners and designers alike are opting for vibrant-hued appliances to incorporate their personal design style and infuse their kitchen with extra flavor.

Verona Appliances takes customization a few steps further with the Designer Range Builder Tool. This innovative utility invites users to build their own appliance by selecting from a series of options including fuel type, body-color, and knob color to craft their own bespoke appliance.

Cohesion in the Kitchen

Finding the perfect balance between functionality and a visually appealing space can have a powerful impact on the way you interact with your kitchen. Creating a cohesive space can inspire aspiring home chefs to go bold with their dishes or establish a comforting environment where families can relax at the end of a long day.

That’s why Verona Appliances has introduced their new Kitchen Suite. Whether your dream kitchen is large, small, or in-between, this new package offers a combination of four coordinating appliances including a refrigerator, dishwasher, vent hood and range to craft the ultimate gourmet kitchen.

Verona Helps Outfit 300 sq.ft. Cottage

August 1, 2016 by EuroChef

With Verona Appliances, big things come in small packages! And that’s exactly what renovators had in mind when transforming a small summer cottage into a fully outfitted year round home.

DanCutronaPhotography-¼-0279

In Provincetown, Massachusetts Cape Associates, a building and remodeling company specializing in fully custom projects, was tasked with not only turning the 300 square foot cottage into a year round space, but equipping it with all of the conveniences of modern living.

“The Summer cottage could not be expanded vertically or horizontally due to code restrictions so all the requirements for year round living needed to be fit into the existing footprint,” said project manager Derik Burgess. “This necessitated very careful planning and customization in order to fit it all in.”

The kitchen was completed with a 24” Verona Gas Wall Oven and a 12” Deluxe 2 Burner Gas Cooktop. The appliances were specially chosen by the client, he himself being a principal at Studios Architecture.
